Meet Faith Larson, MSW, LCSW-S
You Deserve to Feel Calm in Your Own Life
Work with Faith if you’re ready for tools that actually work, support that feels reassuring, and therapy that gets to the root cause of things.
Living With Complex Trauma Is A Real Struggle.
You're carrying everything you've been through and still trying to show up for your life. That takes real courage.
I bring years of specialized training and my own lived experience to this work. This is a space where you don't have to explain yourself. Or pretend you're okay when you're not. I work especially well with people who have tried therapy before and left feeling unheard.
Sessions here are real, grounded, and deep, yet never short on laughter. Healing doesn’t have to feel heavy all the time. I’ll meet you exactly where you are, with an approach that adapts to your true needs. Not a one-size-fits-all method, but something that genuinely fits you.
Using EMDR, IFS, and other approaches, I’ll help you move what’s been stuck so you can shift from survival mode to safety, from shame to self-understanding, and from simply getting through the day to truly living it.
My clients often say the same thing: they finally feel safe. That something feels different here.
It takes real courage to sit in front of another person and be honest about your pain.
And it’s one of the greatest privileges of my life to walk alongside you in that process.

Frequently Asked Questions About Working With Faith
Many of Faith’s clients come to her after therapy left them feeling unheard, misunderstood, or intellectually aware of their patterns without actually feeling different.
Faith does not rely on conversation alone. She uses approaches such as EMDR, IFS, DBT, and more to address what may still be stuck beneath the surface.
Sessions are collaborative, grounded, and adapted to you. You will not be pushed through a predetermined process or expected to fit a one-size-fits-all method.
The goal is not simply to understand why you are struggling. It is to help your mind and body experience something different.
Faith works especially well with people who feel deeply, think intensely, and are exhausted from carrying more than others realize.
You may be a strong fit if you:
- Are self-aware but still feel trapped in the same patterns
- Want to do meaningful work rather than stay on the surface
- Struggle with trauma, shame, people-pleasing, or weak boundaries
- Feel responsible for everyone else’s needs and emotions
- Have difficulty feeling safe, even when you know you are no longer in danger
- Want a therapist who can be direct while remaining warm and compassionate
- Are willing to look honestly at what is happening and practice change outside of sessions
You do not need to arrive with everything figured out. But therapy tends to work best when you are willing to be curious, honest, and involved in the process.
Faith combines advanced trauma training with lived experience and a deeply human style of therapy.
She does not sit at a distance and analyze you. She pays attention to what is happening in your thoughts, emotions, body, relationships, and nervous system, then adapts the work accordingly.
Some sessions may involve EMDR or structured skills. Others may focus on understanding different parts of yourself, practicing boundaries, processing grief, or making sense of a reaction that seemed to come from nowhere.
And while the work can go deep, sessions are not cold or relentlessly heavy. There is room for honesty, warmth, personality, and laughter.
No. You remain in control of what you share and when you share it.
Faith understands that trust takes time, especially if you have previously felt dismissed, judged, pressured, or unsafe with another person. Therapy begins by creating enough safety for meaningful work to happen.
You will not be forced to disclose every detail of a traumatic experience. And you will not be pushed into deeper work before you have the support and preparation to handle it.
That is one of the most common reasons people seek Faith out.
You may already understand that you people-please because of your childhood. You may know why conflict makes you panic or why you struggle to say no. But insight does not always change the emotional or physical reaction.
Faith helps you work beyond the intellectual explanation.
Depending on your needs, she may use EMDR, IFS, DBT, the Safe and Sound Protocol, or another trauma-informed approach to help you process what your nervous system is still responding to.
Understanding yourself matters. But therapy can also help that understanding become a lived change.
You do not need to be in crisis to deserve support.
Many of Faith’s clients appear capable and put together from the outside. They work, care for their families, meet their responsibilities, and keep showing up.
But internally, they may be overwhelmed by racing thoughts, shame, grief, anger, fear, intrusive memories, or the pressure to keep everyone else happy.
You do not have to wait until you completely fall apart. If something is repeatedly affecting your peace, relationships, sleep, self-worth, or ability to feel like yourself, it is worth bringing into therapy.
You do not have to calm yourself down before coming to therapy.
Faith frequently works with people who feel emotions intensely or move between feeling overwhelmed and shutting down completely.
The goal is not to make you less sensitive or less emotional. It is to help you understand what your emotions are communicating, respond without being overtaken by them, and build greater trust in your ability to handle difficult moments.
If something becomes too activating, Faith slows the process down. Your nervous system is not an obstacle to the work. It helps determine the pace.
Faith offers compassion without avoiding honesty.
She understands that your reactions developed for a reason. But she will also help you recognize when old coping strategies, relationship patterns, or beliefs are now keeping you stuck.
You can expect a therapist who listens closely, takes your pain seriously, and is willing to gently challenge you when it supports your growth.
The goal is always to help you see yourself more clearly and make choices that align with the life and relationships you want.
Then therapy may become one of the few places where you do not have to.
Many of Faith’s clients are dependable, thoughtful, capable people who are constantly considering everyone else’s feelings. They may say yes when they mean no, avoid conflict, or feel intense guilt whenever they set a boundary.
Faith helps you understand why protecting yourself feels so uncomfortable and practice doing it without becoming cold, selfish, or disconnected from the people you love.
Healthy boundaries are not about caring less. They allow you to care without repeatedly abandoning yourself.
No, Faith works with people affected by experiences such as childhood trauma, abusive or unhealthy relationships, sexual trauma, traumatic loss, miscarriage and infertility, military trauma, emotional neglect, and other experiences that changed how safe the world or other people feel.
She also works with the patterns that can grow from trauma, including chronic people-pleasing, panic, intrusive thoughts, shame, emotional overwhelm, relationship difficulties, and living in survival mode.
You do not need a particular diagnosis or one clearly defined traumatic event to begin.
Faith draws from several approaches, including:
- Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing
- Internal Family Systems
- Dialectical Behavior Therapy
- Safe and Sound Protocol
- Post Induction Therapy
- Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
The specific approach depends on your goals, history, preferences, and what helps you feel supported rather than overwhelmed.
Therapy is not chosen based on what Faith wants to use. It is shaped around what is most useful for you.
Holistic Hope accepts Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, and UnitedHealth/Optum.
The practice also supports out-of-network reimbursement and offers sliding-scale options when available. Direct payment is also an option for clients who do not have insurance or prefer not to use it.
The team can discuss payment and insurance details with you before your first appointment so you understand your options.
The first step is a brief consultation.
This is a chance to talk about what has been happening, what you are hoping will change, and whether Faith’s approach feels like a good fit.
You do not need to prepare your full history or know which type of therapy you need. You can simply explain what has been hardest lately.
From there, the team will answer your questions, review scheduling and payment options, and help you decide on the next step without pressure.
That is totally normal and okay.
Beginning therapy means allowing another person to see something you may have worked very hard to hide, manage, or survive on your own.
You do not need to show up fearless, completely open, or certain that therapy will work. You only need enough willingness to begin the conversation.
Faith will meet you where you are and help you move forward at a pace that feels honest, supportive, and safe.
